Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Review (Wii U, 3DS) | Nintendo Okie
Added: 18.05.2013 6:17 | 9 views | 0 comments
Phil Stortzum of Nintendo Okie writes, "A series that has caught on like wildfire in Japan is Capcoms Monster Hunter series. While its first two PlayStation 2 installments did not cause that much of a stir, it was when the series hit the PlayStation Portable that Monster Hunter soon became the juggernaut of a franchise in the Land of the Rising Sun. A lot has happened since then, the most notable of which is the series shift from Sony platforms to Nintendo ones. The latest in the series is an updated version of the Wiis Monster Hunter Tri. Its Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and quite frankly, it is the definitive Monster Hunter experience."

With the game so early in development, very little confirmed information is available at this time. We know its being developed by the man behind the first three, Masahiro Sakurai, and being co-developed (a series first) by Namco Bandai games, who youll probably recognize as the studio behind other well-received fighting series like Tekken, SoulCalibur, and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja. We know the game is being developed for both Wii U and 3DS, and that there will be some kind of connectivity between the two. Possible ideas hinted at include customizing characters in the 3DS version and uploading them to the Wii U, or perhaps even cross-platform play similar to what Capcom has done with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

From GamesReviews:
"To say the Monster Hunter series is big in Japan is an understatement. These third-person action RPGs are positively huge in the Land of the Rising Sun, so much so that they played a major role in popularizing the PSP. However, Monster Hunter Fever hasnt quite found its way to the West. It does have a devoted cult following in North America and Europe, but their numbers arent large enough to make Capcoms beast slaying franchise a household name. Regardless, Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate (MH3U), the latest installment, has been generating some buzz and might even convince..."

| Soul Sacrifice Review | Worth Playing

Worth Playing: "Soul Sacrifice is forever doomed to stand in the shadow of its big brother. Inafune may have created some of Capcom's most enduring games, but in this case, he comes in second to his old company's offerings. With that said, Soul Sacrifice still has a lot going for it. The combat is fun, and the basic ideas are flawed but interesting. Someone looking for a Monster Hunter game after finishing all of the available Monster Hunter titles will likely have a good time with Soul Sacrifice."

Capcom reveals sales projections for upcoming games; Monster Hunter 4 projected to sell 2.8 million copies in upcoming year.
Capcom today divulged sales projections for a trio of its high-profile upcoming games. By the end of March 2014, the company expects for consoles and PC to have sold 1.2 million units each across North America, Japan, and Europe.
Sales of 3DS-exclusive in Japan alone are expected to hit 2.8 million by the end of the period.
Resident Evil: Revelations for consoles and PC launches .
The news follows , which saw Capcom profits fall 56 percent.
Capcom also laid out a roadmap of strategic objectives it plans to execute in the coming year in an effort to make its business more profitable. The first arm of this plan aims to make Capcom more competitive overseas by "deepening global ties" between development and marketing.
A subset of this plan is to establish a new organizational framework for next-generation game development. Capcom called out its recently announced PlayStation 4 game----as an example of this how the company is already following through on this strategy.
Other profit-boosting initiatives Capcom plans to execute this year include launching "proven" titles in Japan, a market the publisher called "highly profitable." Some of these games include Monster Hunter 4, Ace Attorney 5, and Sengoku Basara 4.
Lastly, Capcom said it will look to downloadable content as a means to make its business more profitable in the year ahead. The Japanese publisher aims to release DLC to extend the life of major titles by strategically launching add-on content.
Also, the company plans to increase sales from downloads simply by making more games available that are delivered as digital exclusives.
